Congratulations Danielle!

Fashion illustration and friend Danielle Meder was announced as the Panel's pic for the Dr Martens Design Contest.
Sign up to find out when and where you can buy Danielle's boot here: http://www.dmbootdesign.com/winners/buy.

Piggy-backing the success of that contest, Dr Martens just launched a t-shirt design contest - erm, right...

Rags and Mags

I couldn't write anything better than what is already on the newly launched Rags and Mags.

Rags and Mags is a voyeuristic peek into the thoughts of two fictional characters as they work and play within the real fashion industry in Toronto, Canada. It is written by Carolyn Rohaly, and illustrated by Danielle Meder.

Carolyn Rohaly is a former urban planner from Calgary who moved to Toronto to pursue her dreams in the fashion and entertainment industries. She survived a few seasons as a fashion designer with her own line, and currently works in the film industry. Carolyn writes a diary on the Toronto Fashion Incubator website that covers the Canadian fashion scene from the perspective of young entrepreneurs. At night she rehearses with her all-girl rock band Satan’s Candy. Carolyn loves writing, rock and roll, and mimosas at brunch.

Danielle Meder met Carolyn while she was a fashion student at Ryerson University. Danielle started fashion blogging the design process of her grad collection, Final Fashion, in 2005. After graduating in 2006, Danielle became a freelance fashion illustrator specializing in working with fashion designers. She has also contributed editorial illustration to NOW Magazine and the National Post. Danielle loves talking shop, meeting other fashion bloggers, and lots of cream in her coffee.

The Toronto fashion scene just got more interesting. These ladies are brilliant!
